Finance Assistant

Hornchurch, Essex
Up to £30,000 + Benefits and Bonus
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic individual with a good head for numbers, data and a keen interest in providing key business critical analysis, and managing financial aspects related to mortgage and insurance transactions with high accuracy. We are an award-winning mortgage business based in Essex, with a strong industry reputation for supporting and developing highly skilled and knowledgeable Mortgage Advisers. We currently employ over 50 staff in our head office in Hornchurch and support over 300 Mortgage Advisers via our nationwide network. The ideal candidate will be excited by the prospect of joining a highly successful, growing business in a role offering a perfect opportunity to utilise their previous financial experience gained from within the mortgage or financial services sector or a related professional services industry such as accountancy, pensions or insurance. Professionalism, accuracy and an eagerness to learn are essential requirements of the role. The role is office based in Hornchurch, Essex, with hybrid options available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily financial transactions, including commission calculation for mortgage and insurance
  • Processing outgoing commissions statements and reconciliation
  • Managing membership direct debits
  • Preparing weekly reports of the business performance
  • Managing the Finance communications
  • Create and manage sales invoices
  • Supporting the management of payroll
  • Maintaining the lender and provider commission panels
  • Assist in recording and processing financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the line manager
Skills & Experience
  • Experience of working within a fast paced, rapidly growing business
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is vital.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Accountancy and/or finance related qualifications a benefit
